Telenor, a Norwegian multinational telco provider, has partnered with Google Cloud to digitise its services and explore further joint offering opportunities.
The companies plan to not only use Google Cloud capabilities to improve Telenor’s current infrastructure, but also to collaborate on new improvements through Google’s knowledge of data management, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.
The Oslo-based Telenor is majority-owned by the Norwegian government, serving more than 170 million customers predominantly in Scandinavia and areas of Asia.
Key areas of collaboration for the two firms will include enhancing Telenor’s technological capabilities, creating scalable revenue streams through joint go-to-market activities, and supporting SMEs in their digital transformation journeys.

Together the companies also plan to jointly innovate current and future product offerings, develop new solutions, and improve cost efficiencies in the IoT and 5G arenas.
